COLONICS is the ancient art of colon cleanse.  The end products of digestion are toxic wastes which need to be eliminated from the body or they will be absorbed into the blood stream, and poison the body.  When an individual is constipated, this waste remains in the colon to ferment and putrefy.  Constipation is defined as having less than several bowel movements a day, or one bowel movement for each meal eaten.  Chronic constipation affects a vast majority of people.  It reduces the quality of life and health because the body is poisoning itself with toxic waste.

Colonics are gentle, painless, non-invasive, and safe.  Supplies are disposable; therefore, there can be no transmission of disease.  The Client is draped modestly for the maximum privacy.  The equipment used is U.S.F.D.A. approved.  Only the purest water is used to cleanse the colon.  The water is filtered through four filters and an Ultra Violet light is used to kill bacteria for maximum purity.  Colonics rinse out the colon, or large intestine.  The water does not go any further.  The illiocecal valve is in between the small and large intestines.  This one way valve allows material to pass from the small intestine to the large intestine, but not back.  Light massage alleviates discomfort, and aids in elimination.

Maintaining colon health requires plenty of water and high fiber food.  In addition, supplementing the diet with Probiotics assures the presence of 'good' bacteria in the colon to maintain a proper balance with the 'bad' bacteria.  Enzyme supplements can aid in breaking down food in digestion.  Herbal stool softeners are available for those times when a little natural help is needed between visits to the Colon Therapist.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE.  The lymphatic system is the body's sewer system.  Cells perform many functions all resulting in waste products that are put into the lymphatic system.  The circulatory system brings oxygen and nutrition rich blood to the cells.  The lymphatic system removes waste.  The difference is, unlike the circulatory system, which is pumped by the heart, the lymphatic system is not pumped.  It is moved by gravity and exercise.  People who lead sedentary lives have sluggish lymphatic systems.  The toxic waste in the lymphatic system needs to be flushed out of the body for optimal health.

There are several versions of manual lymphatic drainage therapies.  Besides the passive act of MLD, people can actively do simple exercises to facilitate lymphatic drainage.  One of the most popular and effective methods for this is the trampoline.  It is fun, healthful, and an easy way to flush the lymphatic system and detox the body.

EAR CANDLING is a natural holistic method of gently and painlessly removing excess ear wax.  It dates back to Biblical times when hollow reeds from swamp areas were utilized as candles.  It has been passed down for many generations by the North and South American natives, as well as the Egyptian, African, Oriental and European cultures.

Years of wax build up can cause hearing loss and deafness.  This preventative therapy may render hearing aides unnecessary.  In addition, it has been known to clear the sinuses.  It is safe and effective.  A specially made 'candle' is used to create a vortex that draws out the excess wax.  The Client is completely relaxed during the treatment.  There are no side effects.

INFARRED SAUNA is recognized by Health Practitioners worldwide as perhaps the most effective method of removing both chemical and heavy metal toxins from the body.  The skin is the largest organ in the body and the body's first line of defense.  It is a permeable organ.  Chemical contamination, household cleaners, paint fumes, and heavy metals can enter the body through the skin, and also exit the body through the skin.  The Infared Sauna has deep, penetrating heat which goes deep inside the body, releasing lipophic (fat stored) toxins and heavy metals.  As the body perspires, toxins and heavy metals are released.

A typical sauna cession will cause a brief, minor increase in body temperature, identical to the body's defense mechanism against bacteria, microbes, and consequent infection.  This beneficial side effect triggers the production of white blood cells (leukocytes) by your bone marrow and killer T cells by your thymus.  The result is immune system improvement.

A 20 minute session in an Infared Sauna has the effect on the cardiovascular system similar to that from a six mile run.  The body's natural reaction to heat is to cool itself.  It does this by diverting blood from the internal organs to the extremities and skin.  This increases the heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate.  Medical research indicates that use of infared sauna therapy may be as effective a means of cardiovascular conditioning as regular exercise.  This is especially important to individuals who are not physically capable of exercising.  NASA concluded in the 1980's that infared stimulation is the ideal way for astronauts to maintain cardiovascular conditioning during long space flights.

MASSAGE THERAPY has long been considered a popular form of relaxation and pampering.  However, it also has serious medical benefits.

Massage Therapy relieves pain naturally, holistically.  The manipulation of the body's soft tissue causes stimulation of nerves.  When the body's nerves continue to be stimulated during the massage, the nerve receptors in the brain cannot process all the stimulations they are receiving.  Thus the massage acts as a pain block by over stimulating the nerve receptors in the brain.  Often the effects last for hours, and sometimes even days.  This eliminates the need for the use of pain medication that often has detrimental side effects.

It has long been known that Massage Therapy relieves muscle aches and pains from over use in sports or other activities.  This is because it eliminates the cause of these muscles aches.  Muscles produce energy through a chemical reaction ending with lactic acid as the final waste product.  Lactic acid can build up in the muscles causing 'knots', or 'trigger points'.  This happens when the muscle cells are saturated with lactic acid, leaving no room for oxygen and nutrients.  This anaerobic condition can be very painful.  Massage Therapy gently applies pressure to these areas forcing out the lactic acid and toxins to be flushed out of the body.  The pressure creates a vacuum which, when released, draws fresh blood into the muscles.  This fresh blood flow brings the necessary oxygen and nutrients to correct the painful condition.

SWEDISH MASSAGE is the most popular form of Massage Therapy.  It dates back to the 1800's where it was first practiced by Doctors in the hospitals of Stockholm, Sweden.  It is based on the premise that improving the circulation removes impurities and toxins from the lymphatic system be flushed out of the body through the excretory system while bringing fresh blood containing oxygen and nutrients to the cells.  All strokes go in the direction of the heart to facilitate this process.

Swedish Massage stretches muscles and tendons, removes lactic acid, the waste product of energy, from the muscles.  Stress hormones are eliminated from the body and replaced with relaxation hormones, thus relieving stress.  The stimulation of the nerves acts as a natural pain block.  Swedish Massage uses several strokes: Effleurage - long gliding soothing strokes; and Petrosage - kneading, friction, vibrating, and tappotement.  Oil facilitates the slide that is necessary on the skin to perform Swedish Massage.  It is performed on a Massage table, and the patient is draped.  The portion of the body not being worked on is covered.

HOT STONE MASSAGE uses black basalt volcanic lava rocks, which absorb and retain heat.  These are applied to the body in various places such as the palms of the hands, between the toes, points on the back, under the knees, etc.  The stones are replaced as they cool, and also used in massage strokes.  Heat facilitates healing by drawing blood to the area where the stones ar placed.  The blood brings oxygen and nutrients to the area.  The result is a maximum relaxing experience.

AROMATHERAPY is 6,000 years old.  It was practiced in ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt for health, healing and other uses. Essential oils are distilled from the leaves, flowers, roots, fruit, seeds, or bark of plants and trees.  These essential oils contain the immune system of the plant, flower, or tree.  Using essential oils boosts the human immune system to prevent disease transmission, and also to treat a host of maladies from insomnia, bee stings to scars.

The essential oils are added to another oil, a carrier oil, and applied to the body.  They enter the body through the skin which is permeable, and through the ofactory system (smell) and go directly into the bloodstream.  Essential oils are antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, antidepressant, and each one has its own distinctive therapeutic psychological and physiological properties.

During the plague in the Dark Ages in Europe, only the perfumers who worked daily with essential oils did not succumb to the plague.  Aromatherapy is pleasant, preventative and healing.

REFLEXOLOGY is performed on the hands or feet. It is based on the scientific fact that the nerve endings in the hands and feet go to the brain and correspond with other nerves which end in other parts of the body.  It is used to stimulate parts of the body which are not readily accessible such as internal organs.  It has been used successfully to break up stones in the bladder that would have otherwise required surgery.  In addition, it can be used to treat areas that are not able to be touched such as burned or injured parts of the body.

FACIALS can rejuvenated and enhance natural beauty by creating the optimal healthful environment for skin.  Skin care involves deep pore cleansing and toning.  Toners restore the skin to it correct, slightly acid PH.  This facilitates the functioning of the skins acid mantle, which destroys harmful bacteria on the skin.  Facials also include exfoliation which facilitates the sloughing off of the dead layer of skin to allow the fresh, new skin cells to emerge.  Then extractions remove sebum, built up dirt, grim, and blackheads in open pores.  Facial massage provides relaxation and a customized mask draws out impurities, hydrates, and has other beneficial properties based on the particular needs of the Client.  The finale is the correct moisturizers and sun protection as well as recommendations for individual skin care regimes between facials.
